Nashville Music Startup ROOTNOTE to Present in London at The Annual NY:LON Connect Conference

Nashville-based music startup RootNote has been invited to present at this year’s annual NY:LON Connect conference in London. Organized by Music Ally and the Music Business Association, NY:LON Connect brings together leading executives from the international music industry along with the most innovative startups to discuss and debate key industry issues.

Founded by brothers Jason and Jeremy Burchard in 2016, RootNote provides strategic equity-based investment capital to musicians in order to help them build sustainable companies and brands around their music. RootNote counts Jeremy’s duo Moonlight Social and singer-songwriter Tony Lucca among its first artist investments, made in 2018, and plans up to five additional investments in 2019.

The Burchard brothers will present RootNote’s business model and current traction to a room of international music industry executives and investors before a panel discussing the role of music industry accelerators and the growing landscape of music investment.

It’s been an exciting year of growth for RootNote, which joined the Nashville Entrepreneur Center’s vaunted Project Music Portfolio program in early 2018. The company made its first hire, recent Vanderbilt MBA graduate and former Army Captain Brian Huefner as its Director of Strategy and Operations, as well as brought in Jeremy Brook of the Brook Law Firm as legal counsel.

RootNote’s Moonlight Social made their debut on the Billboard charts and signed an agreement with a boutique booking agency after releasing their EP MAKE YOU SMILE, while Tony Lucca recorded a forthcoming album with lauded producer Ken Coomer and signed a publishing deal, among other achievements.

After utilizing founder capital to fund their initial investments, RootNote announced a pre-seed funding raise in late 2018.

ABOUT ROOTNOTE:
The Burchard brothers grew up in Lubbock, Texas, a town with a rich musical history that they attribute to some of the inspiration behind RootNote. Jeremy brings a decade of experience as a touring and recording artist, music journalist, and videographer to the company. Prior to joining his younger brother in the music industry, Jason spent his early career working in consulting and later in venture capital, while attending the London School of Economics.
