Inside Track on Music Row with Preshias Harris | November 2020

Country singer/songwriter and recording artist, Michael McCall (MDM Entertainment), released his debut single, “He Looks Good On Her,” in mid-October. Produced by Buddy Hyatt (George Jones/Lee Greenwood/Mickey Gilley/ Tracy Lawrence) and co-written by McCall (BMI) and Scott Randall Rhodes (BMI), the original track is available now via all major digital retail and streaming outlets. A resurge onto the country music scene, following the release of his self-titled CD release in 2017, the track dabbles in the murk of unrequited past love from the reserved seat of a barstool. The storyline is that of a happily-ever-after breakup and the realization that a former lover wears the new “look of love” well. McCall’s tenacious vocals portray an aging heartbreak and pining love to spin the familiar tale about the one that got away; simplistic production spotlights trademarked iconic country-western guitar twang performances that do-si-do with piano and pedal steel counterparts. “After sifting through a number of recordings, we kept going back to ‘He Looks Good On Her.’ The entire team voted hands-down that this was the single to come out of the gate with,” said Michael McCall. Singer/songwriter Brecken Miles continues his alliance with Generations Against Bullying (GAB) during National Bully Prevention Month and beyond with a series of weekly online shows (Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. CT) running now through November 17. The acoustic performances, originally designed to bring fans some much-needed entertainment and help offset Brecken’s lost touring income, have become a way for this talented singer to help others as well. “My fans are incredible,” notes Brecken. “The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has impacted everyone, and it’s just not possible to keep folks safe at indoor gigs. These performances provide a way for me to keep making music and now, to further my partnership with GAB.” Brecken’s team at Rhyme Partners has provided a COVID-19 link right on his Spotify page so that fans can easily donate to Miles and to this campaign. GAB will receive 50% of all funds collected. Anyone who donates to the charity via Brecken’s, or will receive a free download of “God Loves,” an unreleased song Brecken co-wrote with Melissa Bollea and Bill DiLuigi just for the organization.

A treat for ‘singing cowboy’ fans: a new release from one of the best. Tex Ritter, The Songs Of The West is available now from Country Rewind Records, best known for bringing unreleased traditional Country music into the contemporary era. Tex Ritter was well suited to the role of singing cowboy. He looked and acted the part and was singing the type of songs he loved best. He became one of the first artists signed by the newly formed Capitol Records. Tex Ritter, The Songs Of The West was produced by Jim Farrell and Co-Produced by Rex Allen Jr. The Executive Producer on the project was Tom Gramuglia. The new release is being distributed by Select-O-Hits and is available to order at and streaming and download platforms. “Tex recorded these tracks for broadcast on the radio and these versions of the songs were never commercially released,” noted project producer Jim Farrell. Farrell took on the project of producing this collection after Country Rewind Records president Thomas Gramuglia rescued the ‘lost’ master tapes that required expert forensic recovery to bring them to twenty-first century audio quality.
