DUO NEWS:

The Swon Brothers have been busy cranking out brand new music, and their fans are loving it including the release of their downhome anthem “Southern Draw,” (Yes, that’s “Draw” not Drawl). The brothers co-wrote the lively tune with Lewis Brice, who is also featured on the new track. The song conjures up a craving for sweet tea and the urge to start every sentence with “Hey Y’all.”

“Writing and recording with Lewis has been like working with a third brother. Sometimes you get in a room with kindred spirits and music is just easy,” The Swon Brothers commented. “What you see is what you get with this guy and we are beyond stoked to release this song with him!” “Southern Draw” appears on The Swon Brothers’ new full-length album Nashlahoma which releases on November 20th. The project is packed with 11 songs (and a reprise) written by and co-written with an impressive array of some of Nashville’s best. Pre-Order the new album at http://smarturl.it/Nashlahoma.

FARM MUSIC NEWS:

Kolt Barber (Barbed Wire Entertainment recording artist), and Seth Wood (Swood Media) have announced their mutual alliance in a television production endeavor to introduce “Saddle to the Stage”, a new series positioned to draw audiences with an “American Spirit” and a palate for real-life TV. An idea spawned by The Kolt Barber American Cowboy Showdown (an IPRA sanctioned event that combines rodeo and live country music entertainment) which kicked of in June this summer, the real life, action-packed, country music and agri-tainment TV show, “Saddle To The Stage,” will chronicle the life and times of a fast-paced traveling rough-stock rodeo, a touring band, and an AG consultant and rancher—to harvest the all-American spirit of the great outdoors. “Livening the ‘American Spirit,’ this reality TV show will cater to the AG community—farmers, ranchers, cowboys—and those who have an admiration for our American history, livelihood and way of life,” Barber said. Production began in June filming at various locations throughout the Southeast. Barber has also been tapped to create and record the official theme song for the agricultural docuseries “Corn Warriors” produced by Seth Wood/Swood Media. FIRST EVER SOLO NEWS:

Terry McBride, a true country music multi-talent, released his first-ever full-length solo effort, Rebels & Angels, in October. McBride, having co-written nine of the ten tracks, seamlessly blends traditional country sounds and themes into an updated manner that competes perfectly with the commercial standards of today. The project was produced by acclaimed producer and songwriter, Luke Laird and released by Creative Nation / TMc Records. The songwriting credits on this album are exceptional, as the album’s title track proves. “Rebels and Angels,” a duet with the incomparable Patty Loveless and written with Chris Stapleton, is just one of the many incredible songs on this album. McBride also honors his father, Dale McBride, with a cover of “Corpus Christi Wind” as well as Delbert McClinton, the man that started his touring career, with a feature on a true story song, “Went For One.” The first single, “Callin’ All Hearts” is his first release to Texas Regional Radio where it is already seeing great early reaction.

To celebrate the release, McBride will be joined by his collaborators and friends Luke Laird (“Pontoon,” Head Over Boots,” “Drink In My Hand”) Brice Long (“Heartache on the Dance Floor,” “Nothin’ On But The Radio,” “Like A Cowboy) and Marv Green (“It Just Comes Natural,” “Farmer’s Daughter,” “Amazed”) at The Bluebird Cafe for a special writers round on November 19 at 7:00 p.m. CST. All donations will benefit The Bluebird Cafe and the round will be live-streamed on the historic venues’ Facebook and YouTube.
