Cody Purvis’ Releases Acoustic EP, Boots on the Ground

Independent country artist, Cody Purvis, who garnered nearly eight million streams and scored his first Top-50 charted hit on Billboard’s Indicator with his single “Drinkin’ Terms” in mid-February, recently released a very special project, BOOTS ON THE GROUND – ACOUSTIC. Proceeds from the title track will be donated to COVID-19 musicians’ relief.

The official lyric video of the title track from BOOTS ON THE GROUND – ACOUSTIC  honors hometown heroes from across the nation who have had their “boots on the ground” during the COVID-19 health crisis and features fan-submitted photographs of truck drivers, grocery store clerks, fast food workers, deliver truck drivers, health care providers and more, who are working despite the potential risk to keep America’s communities operating. Fans can check out the premiere on Friday at cowboysindians.com.

Managed by Erv Woolsey Company (George Strait, Lee Ann Womack), the 6′ 6″ country baritone had planned on utilizing the success of his EP, BOOTS ON THE GROUND to return to the studio and release new music this summer before embarking on several tours in support of his upcoming project,…but fate had different plans:
“The virus hit, studios went dark, and the tour dates were canceled. The momentum we had gathered to roll into a new project was just squelched. I wanted to feel sorry for myself… but how could I?” reflects Purvis. “We lost Diffie,…then Prine — that’s when things got REAL for me. Losing those two artists really put things into a different perspective.”
With the studios being shuttered due to the virus with still no time line for when they would be able to record his new music, Purvis and his team regrouped and decided to release Boots on the Ground – Acoustic.

“In these difficult times, we are now, more than ever, relying on music to heal us,” says Purvis, “so, when we saw the opportunity to utilize the acoustic EP to help others, we jumped on it.”
