Wilder Woods, also know as Bear Rinehart of NEEDTOBREATHE, is set to Kick-off Headlining Tour at The Basement East on Sept 19th

Wilder Woods is the new solo project from Bear Rinehart, better known as the frontman of the GRAMMY® nominated, chart-topping band NEEDTOBREATHE. He recently released his debut album, WILDER WOODS. He performed 3 songs from the album on CBS Saturday this past week (“Supply & Demand” / “Light Shine In” / “Someday Soon”).

Bear is about to kick off his headline tour and will be in his hometown of Nashville playing The Basement East on September 19th.

Wilder Woods self-titled debut is a mystifying concoction of classic soul, infectious R&B, and modern alt pop that pairs intimate, introspective lyricism with a self-assured swagger and sophistication. Fueled by stop-you-in-your-tracks vocals, the album explores patience, forgiveness, and self-love in a world that’s woefully short on all three. From the funk infused Marvin Gaye beat down on the opening track, to the haunting ballads echoing the pain of a Michael Kiwanuka, Wilder Woods is a collection of tunes that are as introspective as they are carefree, and as weathered as they are hopeful.

“This music represents a new direction and something totally fresh for me,” writes Bear in his bio, “So I wanted to find a producer that I had never worked with before who could match that energy.” Rinehart found that producer in Gabe Simon, of the Nashville indie-rock band Kopecky.

Expect more new songs between now and the album release. Watch the video permiere for “Sure Ain’t”, beautifully shot by Gus Black, that captures the emotional and soulful intensity of the song.
