WHAT:
Tracee Ellis Ross, Jennifer Lopez, Oprah and Tiffany Haddish will be among the celebrities to join host and founder, Jane Fonda in celebrating in the 25th Anniversary Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential (GCAPP) annual event on Thursday, November 12, 2020. To celebrate 25 years of crucial work with local youth, the annual EmPower Party is designed to inform and inspire guests from the business, civic, philanthropic, and entertainment communities to support the most vulnerable young people in Georgia. The event will be hosted virtually by Jane alongside her co-host, GRAMMY award-winning singer, Trisha Yearwood, to raise funds to provide the critical support required to serve over 60,000 young people each year.
GCAPP invites guests to tune in to hear Tracee Ellis Ross and Jane Fonda discuss GCAPP and the future of our youth. There will be additional special celebrity guest appearances from Jennifer Lopez, Oprah, Tiffany Haddish and more. Hank Aaron will also present the Lifetime Humanitarian Award to Ted Turner and viewers will receive a special message from President Jimmy Carter.

ABOUT
GCAPP: Jane Fonda founded GCAPP in 1995 when Georgia had the highest teen birth
rate in the nation. Since the founding of GCAPP the birth rate has fallen in Georgia by 71%. This is because of the many front liners and hundreds of our community partners but GCAPP is the sole organization that has kept the issues of teen pregnancy prevention front and center. GCAPP’s work today includes five program areas and reaches over 60,000 young people a year with information, knowledge, skills and motivation they need to make choices that maximize their potential—choices that can be transformational, life changing. Our five focus areas are: Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Comprehensive Sex Ed, Youth Empowerment. Parent Engagement and Physical Activity and nutrition. We work in every region of the state and with the entire youth ecosystem—schools, universities, youth serving organizations, health agencies, government agencies, the faith community, parent groups, and youth groups.
