The New Respects Return With New Single

The New Respects is a family affair made up of siblings Alexis (bass), Zandy (guitar), and Darius Fitzgerald (drums), alongside their cousin Jasmine Mullen (vocals/guitar). After a year of intense touring following the release of the group’s debut EP, this family band has grown together in a personal, professional, and cultural sense. “The good, bad, and ugly from our time together out on the road 24/7 is what brings us together as a unified group,” states bassist Lexi Fitzgerald.

Following the release of its debut EP, Here Comes Trouble, last March, The New Respects were honored to spend 2017 supporting artists including Robert Randolph & The Family Band, O.A.R., ZZ Ward, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Benjamin Booker, The Lone Bellow, Xenia Rubinos, and NEEDTOBREATHE.

The New Respects have returned with “Freedom,” the family quartet’s first single from its upcoming debut full-length album. The song was released on Credential Recordings and produced by Theron Feemster (Demi Lovato, Ellie Goulding, Eminem, Sia), “Freedom” exudes confidence, showcasing the fierce, driven, attitude of this female-led pop, soul, and rock & roll band from Nashville.

Beginning in July, The New Respects kick off a three month tour supporting O.A.R. and Matt Nathanson throughout the U.S. before finishing out the year with fellow Nashville group Colony House.
