Upon the release of the Tennessee Department of Tourist Developments (TDTD) economic impact numbers, the Johnny Cash Museum wanted to extend a congratulations to TDTD team for facilitating amazing growth for the state and most definitely for here in Davidson County. 2014 also marked the first full year that The Johnny Cash Museum was open to the public.

In a report released today, the TDTD reported that the state saw over one billion in expenditure growth from tourists in 2014. In Davidson County alone, home of the Johnny Cash Museum, a $434.49 million increase in expenditures resulted in a total of $5,426.62 million tourist dollars circulated throughout the local community. The Johnny Cash Museum has grown to provide over 30 new positions to the Nashville community since they opened their doors in April of 2013. While Davidson County saw a nearly 9% increase in expenditures from tourists, the Johnny Cash Museum has seen an over 30% increase in their attendance which supported their two expansions. They recently launched a Songwriters Night with a standing room only crowd in attendance at the first event. Their second round will be this Thursday, August 20th at 7 PM CT featuring Susan Ruth (Reba McEntire), Amanda Colleen Williams (Garth Brooks), Leilah Hayman and Jesse and Noah.
