Shania Twain is Now Back with New Music and an Album Set to Release This September

Country Superstar Shania Twain’s last record was UP!, and was released in 2002. Her then husband Robert John “Mutt” Lange produced the record with Shania. In 2008, the couple split and divorced following Lange’s affair with Twain’s best friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud. In an ironic twist, Twain fell in love with Frédéric Thiébaud, who was Marie-Anne’s former husband. He and Shania tied the knot in 2011.

Offered as both a 16-track deluxe and a 12-track standard album, both feature Shania’s current single, “Life’s About To Get Good,” playing on Country radio now, as well as the single “Poor Me.” All songs on NOW were written solely by Shania, who also served as co-producer on the project. I love collaborating, but I didn’t want any emotional, psychological, or musical influence. The minute you invite somebody into that space, you’re influenced. And then it wouldn’t be me. It wouldn’t be pure. This may be the purest work I ever do.”

When writing “Life’s About to Get Good,” Shania explains, “I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out. I’m not in the mood to write a ‘feeling-sorry-for-myself’ song.” The songwriter recognized that with all of the negative in life also comes the positive. “You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”
