Her voice is one of a kind, unique and definitely one that will attract attention. Listed in the classification of pop/soul/jazz, this artist can easily move between genres with poise and grace.

Danii Rountree appeared in Atlanta at the 40th Annual Jazz Festival just a few short months ago and there’s no doubt that she came away with a whole new set of fans.

Roundtree garners a long list of accolades in her career. Her appearance at the Atlanta Jazz Festival entertained 120K fans, she was part of top 100 semi finalists on Fox’s American Idol Eighth Season, and competed in the 2008 Miss USA Pageant as Miss New York.

She attended the Dillard Center for the Performing Arts High School and Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Her musical credits list Motown The Musical, Porgy & Bess, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, and The Laramie Project. Just to name a few.

The title of her album is “Memoirs” set to be released sometime during this year. The current single “Crave” has received a huge positive reception and is certainly creating a buzz about town.

Roundtree elaborated on the album:

“Memoirs is an album written from true life events. We all have that one love story that ends before it starts. And I just so happen to be a singer/ songwriter who documents through song. This album is literally a collection of my memoirs. All the records are personal. The sound has a throwback feel that is Jazz-oriented with Funk and Soul elements; cleverly coined as ‘Retro’. I hope to one-day transition into acting, so I wrote the album as though it was a never-ending Retro movie soundtrack. Ultimately, with the end goal of its contents being put in television, film, commercials, and one day becoming its own short film.” ~Danii Roundtree ~

Roundtree is known for her powerful stage performances, her beauty and grace on stage and of course her mesmerizing signature sound.

She has the brilliance of Broadway jazz and splendor of the classics with her song “My Man.” I can see her on the big stage with diamonds and dancers dressed with top hats and tails. Awesome.

“Pillow Talk” is sexy and exciting. Love her expressions of what true love is and how it deeply moves us.

I loved “Juke Box Boogie” with it’s flair of soft funk and jazz blend. It made me want to move and dance. I could see this as part of a musical set in a movie. I thought of bright costumes and maybe something with a forties feel. Superb.

The debut single is “Crave” which takes me totally out of the forties and Broadway jazz to a today sound of light pop and smooth jazz. I could see this one as a video based in downtown New York, enjoying all the things we crave, food, fun, love and laughter and lot’s of shopping; All with someone you love to “Crave.”
