Rose Ann Dimalanta Trio Presents A Soulful New Album Called….“It’s Time”

Wrap your ears around this awesome trio of the super funky, jazz, and soul entertainers exploding on the music scene. They have been touring Europe and last year blew the crowds away at the Jazznojazz Festival in Zurich.

The first single for review is “No Goodbyein” and it is a mover with a solid groove. It’s a song that each time you listen to it you’ll find something new, like a new feel, a new memory, a new vibe. It has more of pop vibe to it with a ton of energy and a bass line that gives it just a touch of funk.

Single number two is “Miles” and it begins with a soulful piano intro, followed by a smooth jazz rift. Then the vocals come in. Beautiful soulful, enticing vocals with warm and inviting lyrical essence. This one is perfect for a first dance. It’s rich and brings passion to the forefront. Please enjoy a taste for yourself below.

The third single is “Truly Love Someone” and it’s solid on as with all the songs on the album. It brings a very nice jazz blend through. I really enjoyed the soothing and melodious sounds of the piano. The partnering of the soulful, graceful vocals made this song one of my all time favorites.

The album has been described as having a slick urban feel with sophisticated ambiance. It is filled with phenomenal vocals and mind blowing instrumental finesse. “It’s Time” is perfect to start off your new year collection with and you’ll make a long time favorite for sure. Each track is alive with it’s own texture and palette, presenting strong melodies and a deep soulful undeniable rhythm.

Accolades for this artist include the following:

Between the years of 1992 and 2009, Rose Ann released 8 solid solo albums under the name “rad.” She then toured across Europe and Japan and currently still holds a sizable fan club there.

Rose Ann Dimalanta is also performed with the late great artist, Prince. She was a member of his band from 2003 through 2004, she appeared on the Musicology tour, appeared at the Grammy’s in 2004 and appeared in performance with Prince and Beyonce. She brings a funky mix of music styles to the group and continues to evolve in to a magnificent musician and performer.

Artists such as Patti Labelle, Tower of Power, Sheila E., Rachelle Ferrell, George Duke, Toni’ Tone Tony , En Vogue, and many, many others. McKinley is also a prized producer, and recording engineer, as well as the tour and production manager for a large number of heavy hitting artists. He has a long and superb list of album-session credits to his name and performed on major stages all over the world. It is often said he is the “bass players bass player.”

In Europe he is considered one of the most sought after drummers in the music industry. His name is Massimo Buonanno. His work with high profile acts like Seven in Switzerland and Gregor Meyle in Germany are exceptional and not only is he a great performer he is a great songwriter as well. Buonanno is the owner and producer of Lucky Tiger Productions in Switzerland and in his already long list of credits he has a phenomenal list of album-session credits to his name.
Swiss born and a Berklee alumni he is known as one of the most in-demand musicians in Europe.

“The most interesting part of the album was that the way it came together was accidental or at best, serendipitous. It was an organic process where Rose Ann, after a long musical pause and not at all sure of coming back as a bandleader, began to compose again and sent songs to her old friend Raymond for some feedback, who with each song he heard was convinced they needed to go in the studio to record. Massimo was added to the mix; there was great chemistry between the three and here we are. Needless to say, this album is labor of love and done with no other agenda but to make some good music and create memorable moments.” ~Promo Quote~
