Rising Country Artist, Rob Mayes‘, “Road With No Lines” Featured on Spotify’s New Music Nashville Playlist

Following the release of his debut single, actor and singer-songwriter, Rob Mayes, is back with the release of his new track “Road With No Lines.” This song breaks new territory for Mayes, with a slower tempo and a classic-Country sound. Differing from his debut single “Closer,” the dual-talented actor and artist incorporates nostalgia and hometown charm in this follow-up track. The song is influenced by his memories of long drives and the roads he calls home. “Road With No Lines” is now available through all streaming platforms and digital retailers and is also currently featured on Spotify’s New Music Nashville playlist (listen here).
“The song is about the therapeutic reflection that only driving can bring. We all have our favorite roads, I know I have mine and the nostalgia they elicit. This song pays homage to the classic Country songs I grew up on from the story to the melody to the pedal steel,” said Mayes on the inspiration behind the new track.
Co-written by Mayes along with Kevin Leach, J Michael Harter, Evan Williams, the track features Smith Curry on pedal steel and Wanda Vick on fiddle. The song was recorded at Pentavarit Studios in Berry Hill, TN and was produced by Kevin Leach, mixed by Billy Decker and mastered by Grammy nominated Andrew Mendelson.
As a musician, Mayes has always had a passion for performing and creating music since a young age. With his recent releases, he has turned his dream of releasing his original music into a reality. Mayes commented, “The response to my debut single, ‘Closer’ has been amazing. The song has received support from Spotify’s New Music Nashville playlist and it is receiving airplay from radio stations across the US. It has been a whirlwind and I am excited to continue to release more of my music! “
Mayes is set to release the music video for his previous single, “Closer” in the coming weeks and a full EP later this year. The new artist has kept busy in recent months with radio remotes at the 54th ACM Awards, a performance at the Stagecoach Boots on Stage annual day party and most recently opening up for Jon Langston at 101.9 The Wolf’s Who’s Next Concert Series in Sacramento, CA. Coming up, fans can catch Rob Mayes performing at The T.J. Martell Foundation’s “Brew For A Cure” event in Burbank, CA on June 1, the BMI Acoustic Lounge at The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, CA June 3 and during CMA Fest in Nashville, TN June 6-9.
Although Mayes is excited about kicking off his musical journey, he is already well seasoned the entertainment industry. As an actor, Mayes was a series regular on ABC’s “Mistresses” and starred in the cult classic John Dies at the End with Paul Giamatti, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival. His other credits include Lifetime’s “The Client List” with Jennifer Love Hewitt and CW’s “Frequency” and “90210.” Other film credits include “Deep Blue Sea 2,” “Ice Castles,” “Burning Blue,” “The American Mall” opposite Nina Dobrev, “Melvin Smarty,” “Dangerous Matrimony,” “My Christmas Inn” opposite Tia Mowry, “Love for Christmas,” “Maybe I’m Fine,” “Into Thin Air” with Samaire Armstrong and FOX’s“Proven Innocent.” Most recently, Mayes wrapped a Western film titled, “A Soldier’s Heart” where he stars alongside Val Kilmer, AnnaLynne McCord and Jake Busey. The film is set for release later this year.
