Peter Senior Releases Chart Topping Album “On The Edge” Filled With Country Rock and Super Pop

Today I’ll review four singles from the new album by Peter Senior and I must say I think you’ll be impressed. On The Edge Album is a new collection of music that fits nicely into the style and genre of soft rock and pop with a hint of country rock.

The singles we’ll review today are Cool Ride, Baby I Love You, Soft Rain and The Christmas Tree which was released this last December just in time for Christmas.

The single “Cool Ride” was the first release from this album and it hit with a great response debuting at #2 on the Australian iTunes charts falling into the country genre category. The intro is fun and I love the easy rocking groove. The horns are super awesome and full. The harmonies are rich and definitely give it a jazzy feel. The visual in the video sets it apart and sets it up for a “long cool ride.” It placed in the country genre on the charts but I would slide it into an easy country rock genre as well.

“Baby I Love You” is also a super nice tune that was released after “Cool Ride” and again hit well on the charts at #8 falling into the pop category. The video to this song is nice with the stop motion animation. I like that it’s so different from what you would normally expect. The animation is exceptional. The soft rock feel and temp holds your attention and the lyrics and instrumentation are well performed.

I really enjoyed “Soft Rain” as it reminded me so much of one of my all time favorites, Harry Connick Jr. I thought the piano intro was wonderful and warm. It exudes a soft country feel and yet would cross over nicely into the soft pop category.

Though Christmas has come and gone the music of the season is a year long enjoyment for many. This Sydney-based singer songwriter, Peter Senior, released this amazing single that will soon be on all the play back lists. “The Christmas Tree” is a pleasant upbeat rocking tune that should be played at every Christmas party. It’s festive and cheerful and I love the lyrics that give the listener a joyfu; feel for the holidays.

While Peter has a unique vocal palette all his own he does at times remind me of other all time favorite artists with his smooth, sultry country sound and the cross over sound vocally into pop and blues. He has always been around music, his entire life has been focused on building his passion into a life long dream. Musical influences on Peter were Bill Joel, The Beatles, and Neil Diamond.

His passion for the piano bloomed in his teenage years and he has grown in to an amazingly gifted performer. This album was initially recorded live in the studio which added to the energetic feel and solid vibrations you’ll hear on the album.

The main focus for Senior now is promoting and showcasing his new material and building his own record label called Mandalong Records.

Musicians performing on this album are Peter Senior on vocals, piano, percussion and keyboards.
Kayne Butler on drums, and percussion, Harry Gusman on guitars, and Matt Keegan with bari sax. Studio Pros contributed to the horns, bass, guitar, and backing vocals, as well as pedal steel, and dobro.

This artist presents in the style of “Soft Rock, Pop, Motown, Country, Blues” and has been likened to artists such as The Temptations, Billy Joel, Ben Folds, Bruce Springsteen, and Ray Charles.
