Patriot, Lee Greenwood, Releases New EP

“Choosing songs for a record is always exciting. I love songs that have depth and emotion,” says Lee Greenwood. For the last five years he’s been busy touring, writing, recording, and raising a family, but now he’s back with a new EP.

“I Want To Be In Your World,” is a collection of seven songs, diverse in their styles and showing Greenwood’s range as an artist. Greenwood himself wrote three songs for the project, and among the others is the ballad “I Can Let Go Now,” which was written by Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins. The EP was co-produced by Greenwood, Butch Baker, and Tony Smith.

Since Sept. 11, 2001, you can’t go very long without hearing Lee Greenwood’s patriotic hit, “God Bless the USA,” the song for which he is most known. The song is the only one ever to be in the top five on country charts three different times (1991, 2001, and 2003). Greenwood’s patriotism extends beyond words though, as he spends time raising support for our troops and on tour with the USO.
