Oak Ridge Boys Show It’s Only Natural to Take Twitter by Storm

The Oak Ridge Boys have launched to new levels through the power of social networking by generating about 84 million impressions during last night’s TweetChat (#CMchat).  A live chat was hosted by Internet powerhouse Jessica Northey in celebration of the award-winning group’s release of its new CD, It’s Only Natural and the 30th anniversary of “Elvira”.

Northey, founder of Country Music Chat on Twitter and owner of Finger Candy Media, LLC, says teaming with the mighty Oaks for the action-packed event proved an unparalleled and remarkable success. “My fingers are still so sore from trying to keep up with the chat last night. Any artist or band could learn from the Oak Ridge Boys about how to engage with their fans,” she says.  “I am still receiving thanks and tweets from people talking about how incredible the OAKS were. I don’t know if my Tweetdeck has recovered from the volume of tweets,” Northey adds.

Hosted weekly, #CMchat (“Where Country Music Meets You”) has generated more than 300 million impressions. The entertainment forum is the first and only registered live “Country Music Chat” on Twitter.

The high-speed chat with Oak Ridge Boys fans took place after a special appearance during the ACM Honors at the historic Ryman Auditorium. It not only proved the group’s solid and increasing Twitter popularity, but also the continued ability to reinvent itself.  The Oaks are honored to share the monumental milestone with Northey.  “Jessica is brilliant and well thought of in social network circles. When she throws a party people show up!!! Our #CMchat on Twitter was just HUGE!!!!,” says Joe Bonsall.

The Oak Ridge Boys’ It’s Only Natural CD was released through the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® exclusive music program.  It features a rerecording of the signature song “Elvira” along with six other hits, plus five new songs.  In addition to the new CD, The Oak Ridge Boys are the newest members to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry®, the revered home of country music.
