It has been just over two years since their last release and this one is proving to be a super awesome collection. There are 13 fun filled songs for kids and parents alike, to enjoy. The songs promote healthy eating with cool snacks, positive play with friends and over coming obstacles of childhood fears life turning in at bedtime.

Their story is the super hero story of the power of our imagination. All four members, Rich Collins, Scott Durbin, Dave Poche, and Scott “Smitty” Smith are from the beautiful city of New Orleans. Inspired by the stories they told their children at bedtime they began brainstorming about how they could use them to inspire positive kids shows, and songs that would encourage confidence and realistic goals for kids of all ages.

During the disaster of Hurricane Katrina their lives were topsy turvy but even amid the chaos and clean up it only made them stronger. Their motto is “ Reach high, think big, work hard, have fun!”

The first track “Sock”s is something most of us deal with every day. We have all kinds of socks, socks with no mate, long socks, short socks, socks with toes.

“Mad Hatter’s Tea Party” is so cool. It talks about a cool tea party under a tree and a cast of characters who will mesmerize you as you become part one of the special guests at the “Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.” It has a rocking groove to it and your gonna want to move along.

“Prized by many parents for non-condescending lyrics and music that evokes the Beastie Boys or Red Hot Chili Peppers” – The New York Times

A mix of new wave, old school funk, and super cool grooves, you’ll say it’s a great blend of cool pop and hippity hop country/folk that keeps your feet moving.

“Kindergarten Graduation” is bright and exciting with the electronic synth vibes. It brought back memories of my granddaughters kindergarten graduation and the excitement in the kids eyes as they received their certificates and felt so proud they had made it to first grade. The kids singing in the background will invite others to sing along to. This is wonderful for a preschool class.

“[The Movers have] a dash of rebellion and songs that are fresh and treacle free” – Parenting Magazine

And last but certainly not least the final song I would like to mention is only 46 seconds, but it is the funniest and coolest little song on the collection. My granddaughter loves our cats and this one made her laugh so hard. She now sings it every day to her not so little cat, “Little Dude”. I truly enjoy what these guys are doing. They are bringing the love and laughter of music to so many kids around the world and it’s amazing. To see their face light up and hear the laughter as they sing along is so worth it all.

“The Movers will win kids over with their silly antics, but they back up the silliness with positive messages about teamwork, respect for others, and creative problem solving.” – Common Sense Media

This is a must have collection wher you’ll find Rich Collins on drums, guitar, bass, keys, Scott Durbin on keys, and mandolin. You’ll find Dave Poche -on bass and Scott “Smitty” Smith on guitar. The Imagination Movers would slide into the style of Kids music, idie pop, and power pop and they have been likened to artist such as Blink 182, They Might Be Giants, and Barenaked Ladies.
