Nashville’s Ride for Reading Holds 3rd Annual Benefit Concert on February 25

 An evening of great music to benefit children’s literacy sponsored by New Belgium Brewery
 

Ride For Reading, a Nashville area non-profit organization founded by avid cyclists with a goal to provide books to children of low income families, is hosting its 3rd annual benefit concert on  February 25, 2012 at Nashville’s 3rd and Lindsley starting at 6 pm.  The concert, sponsored by New Belgium Brewery, will feature artists Adam Hood and Sean McConnell to help bring awareness to the organization.  Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door and can be purchased here.  All proceeds go to benefit Ride For Reading.

About Ride For Reading
Established in 2008 by dedicated and determined 4th grade teacher and avid bicyclist Mathew Portell, Ride For Reading’s purpose is to distribute books to children who aren’t fortunate enough to have their own.  Highlighted by its unique annual charity bike ride, Ride For Reading has donated over 75,000 books to children of low income families to date and continues to work towards supplying as many books as possible to boost reading in Nashville area schools.  Ride For Reading has an established and increasing presence in the Nashville area and is supported by several professional cyclists including children’s book author and Olympic cyclist Erin Mirabella and Team Niner, a successful professional mountain bike team.  Ride For Reading has also created partnerships with several Nashville area bike shops and other local and national businesses.  The organization has been featured in The Tennessean, Nashville Parent, International Mountain Bike Magazine, Mountain Bike Action and many more.  Visit www.rideforreading.org for information on how to donate.
