The winners in more than 70 Song, Album, Music Video and Design categories winnowed from thousands of submissions from around the globe, were determined by a panel of influential artists and music industry pros including Keith Richards, Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, Del McCoury, Ozzy Osbourne, Bettye LaVette, Jim Lauderdale, Joshua Redman, Shelby Lynne, Kevin Lyman (Warped Tour), Jason Olaine (Jazz At Lincoln Center), Alan Light (Live From The Artists Den), and Evan Schlansky (American Songwriter).
Herrick was named the winner of the Country Song Award for this 11th edition of The IMAs for “Cry Memphis” from NEW DANCE, the band’s first full-length album, to be released June 4, 2012.
With intricate harmonies and a distinctive sound that combines the best of folk, rock, blues and country, Herrick shatters the current country music mold and creates a new path for it to follow. Herrick has been a popular draw on national tours, has played the Grand Ole Opry, and will return to the BamaJam Music Festival this year as the winners of the 2010 BamaJam Battle of the Bands. With dynamic musicianship and powerful harmonies, the band has opened for Kenny Chesney, Hank Williams Jr., Zac Brown Band, Miranda Lambert, and others.
Originally formed in Spokane Washington, this four-piece act writes its own music, including a newly released single, “Do You Love Me.” Herrick is comprised of, Donna Herrick (Mandolin/Lead vocals), Kerry Herrick (Bass/ Vocals), Zach Ballard (Drums/ Percussion), and Jefferson Rogers (Lead Guitar/ Lap Steel/Acoustic). The band is brimming with showmanship and attitude with tight/strong vocals & harmonies.
