Nashville Musician to Appear in Episode of Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva

Nashville resident and independent music artist, Andy Davis, will make an appearance and perform in the upcoming fourth season of Drop Dead Diva. The episode will air June 10 on the Lifetime Network.
“I haven’t really done a lot acting at all,” Davis said. “At least I said my lines while sitting behind a piano, so that made it a little more comfortable. I haven’t seen the final cut, though, so let’s hope I pass the cheesiness test.”

Someone who works for the show and is a fan of Davis’ music suggested to him that he should audition for the part.

“I was excited because I basically got to play myself – a piano player and singer who tries to help the lead male character with his relationship woes,” he said. “I get to share the screen singing a really classic song while the two characters wrestle over their feelings for each other. All I have to say is – have some tissues ready.”
Davis’ music has also been heard on Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Jersey Shore and on the ABC Family network. With more than 50,000 albums independently sold, Davis released new album in 2012 called “Heartbreak Yellow.” The album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Mitchell Froom (Paul McCartney, Sheryl Crow, Randy Newman, Crowded House). The album reached on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart at number four. His fan base raised more than $41,000 on a KickStarter campaign so Davis could create the album.
Davis will be playing a full-band set in Nashville on June 30 at 12th & Porter. Doors are at 8 p.m., show at 9 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.ticketweb.com for $10. Must be 18 or older to attend.

In his years of making music for a living, Davis has toured with artists such as Jakob Dylan, Colbie Caillat, Howie Day, Needtobreathe, Matt Kearney, Matt
Wertz and many more.
