Over 50,000 Patients, Families, and Staff Have Benefitted from the Healing Power of Music in Middle Tennessee
Nashville, Tenn. – Five years of service and going strong,Musicians On Call (MOC) Nashville is celebrating this milestone with a year filled with new programs and events to continue its success and growth in Middle Tennessee.
Since MOC’s Nashville launch in April 2007, the organization has delivered the healing power of music to more than 50,000 patients, staff and families in Middle Tennessee. Through the generosity of local volunteers and supporters, MOC Nashville has been able to sustain ten Bedside Performance Programs and expand into six area hospitals with its brand new program kicking off later this month at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
With the help of artists like Trace Adkins, Darius Rucker,Blake Shelton and countless others including Kellie Pickler, who performed most recently at the 4th Anniversary Party, MOC Nashville is now able to offer its 11th weekly Bedside Performance Program. These weekly programs inspire smiles, laughter and tears by bringing live, in-room performances to patients undergoing treatment or unable to leave their hospital beds.
Additionally, in celebration of this benchmark year, a special edition Fifth Anniversary Hatch Show Print commemorative poster will be produced this summer. Similar to the Hatch Show Print marking the Grand Opening of MOC Nashville in 2007, supporters have the opportunity to include their names on the print by donating $100 to the cause by May 25. Spaces are limited, so MOC encourages donations early to secure inclusion on this year’s print. Donations may be made here.
MOC Nashville has also constructed a Young Professionals Committee (YPC) consisting of young professionals and volunteers in music and related industries to help raise funds and awareness among their peers. The YPC recently threw their first Nashville event where they successfully raised over $1,500 towards their goal of $10,000 – enough to add yet another weekly program to an area healthcare facility. For more news and information on the YPC, please visit the official YPC website.
Many more announcements to come including news on the new weekly bedside program and a fall benefit concert. For more information or to sign up for the MOC mailing list, please visit www.musiciansoncall.org.
