Musicians Corner, Nashville’s destination for free music events, will continue its record-breaking Fifth Anniversary Season on Saturday, September 5, as it moves into its permanent home in Centennial Park.
“The upcoming fall season represents a historic moment for Musicians Corner as it moves into a great new space in one of our most beautiful parks,” said Mayor Karl Dean, who helped launch the program in 2010. “We can never have too much live music in Music City, and Metro was proud to invest in this new space at Centennial Park that is sure to play a part in the continued success of Musicians Corner.”
The Fall 2015 Season Kick Off Celebration Week begins on Monday, August 31 as Musicians Corner Presents “Into The Great Wide Open: An Evening Of Tom Petty Music” at City Winery. The fundraising concert will feature Nashville artists Drew Holcomb, The Secret Sisters, Leigh Nash, Emily West, Matthew Perryman Jones, Kris Allen, Jason Eskridge, Bobby Bare Jr., Jon McLaughlin, Elenowen, Paul McDonald, Gill Landry, Gabriel Kelley, Lauren Shera, The Railers, and American Hotel. All proceeds benefit Musicians Corner’s Fall 2015 Season. Tickets are available here.
Musicians Corner’s Fall 2015 Season takes place in Centennial Park on Saturdays from September 5 to October 31, and Sunday October 18. Events will take place from 12 – 5 pm and include 7 artists performing on the SunTrust Main Stage and Lightning 100 Acoustic Stage, a Kidsville activities area hosted by Mix 92.9, a mix of Nashville’s best food trucks courtesy of the Nashville Food Truck Association, Dogville activities presented by The Farm at Natchez Trace, Local Artisans, Featured Charity Partners, and the Musicians Corner Pub. For the first time, Musicians Corner will be held in its new, permanent home in Centennial Park, located at the corner of West End Avenue and 27th Street.
The Fall 2015 Season artists were co-curated by John Tumminello of Musicians Corner and Larry Kloess of Cause A Scene. Headliners include bluegrass legend Dr. Ralph Stanley, Marc Broussard, Jessie Baylin, Martin Sexton, and a multi-artist tribute to electric guitar pioneer Les Paul in celebration of what would have been his 100th birthday. Special events include the Fall 2015 Season Kick Off Celebration on September 5, Americana Music Festival Showcase & traveling Les Paul Museum on September 19, Musicians Corner’s 100th event on September 26, and Musicians Corner’s Fall Season Closer & Halloween Celebration on October 31.
“We’ve already had an incredible year with record attendance and legends like Mick Jagger and Kris Kristofferson supporting our fundraising auction efforts, said John Tumminello, Musicians Corner Executive Director. “We cannot wait to embark on Musicians Corner’s next chapter as we move into our permanent home and present another diverse line up of talented artists.”
