Music Madness Awards Gala & Fundraiser at Musicians Hall Of Fame & Museum September 2

gala flyerIn March 2015, Give A Little – Nashville launched their first annual  Music Madness Contest. The contest gave artists the opportunity to generate fan participation and conversation as well as a chance to “give a little” back to a charity of their choice. The idea originated from Assistant Editor, Rick Amburgey and was brought to life with the help of Editor, Krys Midgett.
“I think most artists and songwriters would agree that the ability to do music is a blessing and they are more than willing to give back. We all have a charity or two that we are passionate about. The contest was a fun way to engage fans, raise awareness for the charity of choice and most importantly help the charity,” said Rick Amburgey.
For the eight categories, fans were able to nominate contestants. Each category included 16 contestants and two days were allotted for voting each round. After much deliberation by the artists to rally their fans during the voting process, each category was narrowed down to a winner and a runner-up.
Award recipients and charities include:
Celeste Kellogg – Live 4 Tay Foundation
Melanie Sandford – Live4 Tay Foundation
Goose Gossett – St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
Chas Sandford – Live4 Tay Foundation
Jake Roberts – Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio

All of the award recipients will be asked to perform at the during the awards show. Other scheduled performers include Olivia West, Sandra Lee and Joshua Robert.
“Krys and I spent numerous hours coming up with artists, songwriters, bands and radio/television personalities. We created match ups and promoted the time to vote. It was exciting for me to watch the voting because I had no idea
what would happen,” said Rick. “The artists that continued to win as the contest progressed have dedicated fans that stepped up to help them raise money for their charity. It was amazing to see so many people come together for a
common goal.”
These artists and their charities of choice will be honored at the Music Madness Awards Gala & Fundraiser
on September 2, 2015 at The Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. The formal evening (tuxedo rental is not required … this is Nashville) will be a time to celebrate these hard-working contestants with libations, awards and music, but more importantly a time to raise money for the artists’ charities and one grander prize
competition.
The Give A Little Grand Prize will be awarded to the artist who raises the most money for their charity. Giving has already started and will continue until the evening of the awards. During the event, there will be a designated donations area consisting of jars displaying the contestant’s name and charity. All organizations will benefit by recei
ving the proceeds collected for their charity. The charity with the most money raised by 10 PM/CT on September 2nd
will be the Grand Prize Winner and will receive their funds raised plus fifty percent of ticket profits.
The other half of the profit will be used for Give A Little – Nashville’s Annual Christmas Project. Last year, the project provided Christmas to over 160 children in the Middle Tennessee area. Give A Little is projecting an even higher participation rate this year. Give A Little accepts gifts for the children year round and there is always a Christmas Project donation bin at every event they host- including this one.
