Guy is a uniquely gifted songwriter and performer with a powerful voice; her music is soulful Americana with a bit of country, pop, gospel and rock. Her songs resonate with her fans as she writes honestly about her tough life, a journey of love, loss and independent triumph of the spirit. Her new CD, Dry The Rivers, was produced and engineered byMichael Webb (PocoWill Hoge) and features 12 songs written by Guy or co-written with Ray StephensonDonnie Skaggs,Chris CrawfordZack Lyle, Dale Drinkard, Jr., and Rick Tiger.  Contributing musicians include: Webb on Hammond B3 organ, piano, guitar, mandolin, bass guitar, accordian and harmony vocals; Richard Bailey (The Steeldrivers) on banjo; Mike Daly (Hank Williams Jr.Travis Tritt) on pedal steel guitar;Chas Williams (Nanci Griffith) on dobro & electric guitars; Rick Lonow (PocoThe Flying Burrito Brothers) on drums; Dale Drinkard, Jr. and more.
Dry The Rivers premiered the week of release on Billboard.com saying “Dry The Riversalso showcases a different lyrical attitude from Guy, who’s never shied away from singing about hardships such as being kidnapped as a youth, bad relationships and a son on the spectrum (the autism community has adopted her ‘Mistakes Like Me’ as an anthem). Her new batch of 12 songs — which run a stylistic gamut from country to Americana and the hard-hitting rock of the defiant ‘I Am the Queen’ — present Guy as happier but also more resilient, writing as someone who’s been made stronger by her struggles.”
Guy will continue to tour heavily in support of the new release with upcoming dates in Texas and the Pacific Northwest.
