Manuel always has a new surprise up his sleeve, and this week it’s his sudden wedding!
Completely unbeknownst to even his friends and family, famed fashion designer Manuel Cuevas has gone and tied the knot with his bride, Maria Salinas Del Carmen.
Manuel and Maria had just gotten engaged on Tuesday, so the spur of the moment wedding on Thursday came as quite a shock to everyone. But when you’re in love, the stifling convention of time is meaningless. Why wait for wedded bliss when you can start forever today?
Manuel and Maria were married at the Davidson County Courthouse Thursday morning, explaining his last minute announcement that Manuel Couture would be opening at 11:30 a.m. instead of 10 a.m. today. It truly was a shotgun wedding!
Those crazy kids make quite the joyful couple. As you can see in the wedding pictures posted on Twitter and Facebook, Manuel would have been hard-pressed to hold back his characteristic grin! Their happiness and love for each other radiate from their faces.
Soon after the wedding, Manuel took to Twitter and Facebook, lovingly gushing, “My Maria! Doesn’t she look beautiful?!”
Maria Salinas Del Carmen was born and raised in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee in February 1998 where she works full time as an Independent Sales Director for Mary Kay.
For those who don’t know Manuel, he is a famous fashion designer for the stars. He’s dressed countless celebrities, including Johnny Cash, Elvis, and Bob Dylan. Beyond music stars, he’s also dressed presidents, athletes, dancers, artists, and movie stars, including nearly 100 movies and tens of television shows.
Manuel’s iconic fashion has become a true trademark of American style. His showroom, Manuel Couture, is located at 800 Broadway, and is open to everyone – you don’t have to be a celebrity to dress like one.
His creations are also displayed in museums nationwide, including the pieces in the Smithsonian and Nashville’s own Country Music Hall of Fame.
