Luaka Bop brings the power of Gospel to AmericanaFest with ‘The Time For Peace Is Now’

This Friday, Luaka Bop will celebrate the release of The Time For Peace Is Now, the second volume in their World Spirituality Classics series and a remarkable survey of rare and funky Southern 70s gospel. Time For Peace chronicles an inspired moment in gospel history when, in the wake of The Staple Singers and Sly and the Family Stone, the music was as concerned with Justice as it was with Jesus.

The Nashville Scene shared a mini-doc about Annie Caldwell, original member of the Time For Peace-featured Staples Jr. Singers (named due to their love for the original Staple Singers) ahead of a series of Americana Fest events that Luaka Bop are throwing this week.
