Johnny Solinger Hits With Cool New Music: Rocker Embraces Country Roots

With “Livin’ Out a Country Song,” Johnny Solinger returns with a sophomore country project that tips a hat to the singers’ roots.

The self-proclaimed “redneck from the great state of Texas” is best known as the front man of the rock band SKID ROW, but growing up in Texas, country music has always been close to Johnny’s heart.

“It might seem odd to have such drastic tastes in music,” he says, “but it feels perfectly natural to me.

“Livin’ Out A Country Song” is now in rotation on www.NMGRadio.com

The singer´s first country project was released regionally and the single “Too Well To Go To Work” hit the top 20 on the Texas Music Charts, making it to the #16 spot. It´s filled with both sides of Johnny Solinger, Country and Rock. It was a perfect introduction to country fans who may have never heard of Johnny or SKID ROW.

Since the release of that first solo effort, SKID ROW experienced an astounding re-emergence on the world stage, covering all corners of the globe, including China, Australia, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Wales, Sweden, Italy, Mexico, Taiwan, and even Russia. Extensive touring of the U.S. followed, delaying the planned release of Johnny’s second country record. Finally, the wait is over.

“I’m so excited about these songs and this new record that I glow in the dark,” says Solinger. “The first one was never ever meant to be a one and done, throw it against the wall and see if it sticks kind of deal. I LOVE making these records and completely flipping the switch from hard rock back to my country roots.”
