John Rich and Granny Rich host tasting and signing at Frugal MacDoogal on June 8 for Granny Rich Reserve

Earlier this year, John Rich’s Redneck Riviera Whiskey launched a more aged and refined blend of whiskey appropriately named Granny Rich Reserve.  Already in 12 states, the smooth spirit is described as a premium priced blend of traditional corn whiskey, aged three years or more, blended with American single malt aged at least four years. It is designed to meet the expectations of the most critical whiskey drinkers, including Granny Rich herself. Many know her as the “Queen of the Working Class,” because she’s lived through the Dust Bowl days, the Great Depression and World War II.  She’s owned an alterations shop for 19 years and still pulls a 40 hour work week — the epitome of the “Work Hard, Play Hard” brand slogan.
