Inside Track on Music Row with Preshias Harris | November 2020

TRADITIONAL MUSIC NEWS:

The latest single from George Ducas – “Old Timers” – is classic Ducas, and is a well-worn tribute paid to the folks who have made those paths a little bit easier for us to travel. We live in a world now where the term “hero” is thrown around rather loosely, and ironically enough, true heroes don’t see themselves as such, and don’t want that title applied to them. “’Old Timers’ is a tune that I’m proud to have written and recorded for my latest album, Yellow Rose Motel. Especially around Veteran’s Day, it really speaks to me as a tribute to all the veterans who have fought for and protected our freedoms and our country, especially during this year when so many of us have lost loved ones, family and friends, who are older. This song goes out as a dedication, honor and remembrance to all of them, heroes all.” Ducas also plans to release a ‘re-booted’ version of his 1994 hit, “Lipstick Promises”. TRIO MUSIC NEWS:

Supergroup Texas Hill continues to expand its audience—this time, partnering with video network CMT Music to give fans a stripped, true-to-brand video of the Adam Wakefield-penned song “Love Me When I’m Leaving.” Set in an old barn with the three members surrounding a single mic, the visual’s simplistic plot allows the undeniable musicianship and artistry of Texas Hill shine. The video premiered on Texas Hill’s Youtube channel and was added to CMT Music, CMT’s 24-hour music channel, where it will remain in rotation.

“This one was all Corey and Robby [of Midtown Motion],” Wakefield says of the music video shoot. “We had planned on doing some press shots that day but we had a little time left over so we gave them free rein to do their thing. It never ceases to amaze me what young creative folks can do on the fly. Considering we just used one mic and one camera I think we captured something pretty special.” More about Texas Hill at https://www.texashillofficial.com/.

“I love the 80’s and I wanted the lyric video for this song to be fun and have a really cool retro yet modern feel,” shared Ashlie Amber. “Fight With You” was produced by Grammy and Emmy award winner, Jamie Tate. The upbeat tune was written by Mary Haller, Lo and Avrim “Ave” Topel and recorded at The Rukkus Room in Nashville.
