Inside Track on Music Row with Preshias Harris: July 2020 Music News Column

VIDEO NEWS:

Brett Young premiered the official music video June 17 for his new single “Lady.” Fittingly a family affair as longtime collaborator Seth Kupersmith (“Catch,” “Mercy”) directed the scenes under social distance guidelines using only one camera and a drone.

The clips showcase special home footage as the 6x chart-topper celebrates both his daughter, Presley, and her mother, Taylor. Young’s latest offering has tallied over 18 million worldwide streams and will be featured on an upcoming project via BMLG Records. Continuing to garner widespread critical acclaim, “Lady” simultaneously ascends at country radio. Young’s Ticket to L.A. (BMLG Records), debuted atop the Billboard Country Albums chart upon release and features back-to-back No. One hits he co-wrote — “Catch” and “Here Tonight.” His sophomore effort follows a Platinum self-titled debut, which dominated the Top 20 on the Country Albums chart for 37 weeks. Capitol Nashville’s Caylee Hammack is offering fans a look into her upcoming debut record by releasing her scorching new song “Redhead” featuring superstar Reba McEntire available to listen at https://strm.to/CHRedheadPR   Co-written by Hammack with Natalie Hemby and Trent Dabbs, the song details the clothes line, tightrope and dare devil high hopes childhood of the brazen “Redhead” with an assist from fellow flame-haired vocalist Reba McEntire.  Hammack also premiered a music video for the track exclusively with CMT, CMT Music and CMT.com. Directed by Justin Clough, the video filled with personality, confidence and persuasion takes viewers back to a little redhead’s childhood, living life in a double-wide trailer as her parents attempt to handle their daughter’s fervor.  Of Reba’s involvement in the song, Hammack said, “Reba came in the studio and transformed this song. She helped me create an anthem for all redheads. Whether you get it naturally or find it in a bottle, this is for the firecrackers!” More at https://www.cayleehammack.com/
