Singer-songwriter, Phil Vassar, is bringing his 20 years of hits to venues across the country with Stripped Down, an intimate, acoustic show in 14 cities from coast to coast with more dates to be added. Brett Sheroky will be supporting Vassar on select shows throughout the tour. The Stripped Down tour coincides with an EP launch by the same name, and features new material, exciting artists collaborations, and “Postmarked Birmingham” (written by Vassar with Don Sampson & originally recorded by BlackHawk). “We’re peeling back the music to the core with just a piano and guitar, so we can give fans an intimate evening of conversation and music. It’s how these songs were written and I think it will be a fun, unique experience,” Vassar shared.

Jason Aldean has revealed more details behind his next effort 9 (Macon Music/Broken Bow Records), to be released Nov. 22. ACM “Artist of the Decade” Aldean offers 16 interwoven tracks in an era of stand-alone singles and superstar EPs, holding his ground for the modern album with an old-school soul. It includes blistering stadium anthems and cross-pollinated convention busters his audience has come to know and love, all rooted in the obvious traditional influence Aldean has carried throughout his career. ANNIVERSARY NEWS:
Grammy winning singer/songwriter, John Berry, celebrated his 60th birthday performing in Panama City Beach and the 40th Anniversary of his first album, Humble Beginnings which he self-released on vinyl in September 1979. He wrote all of the songs himself. The musicians that joined Berry on Humble Beginnings were some of Berry’s dearest friends. His band consisted of Dick Falcone on bass guitar, Mark Ensley on drums, and Perry Barton played piano and background vocals. The album was recorded and re-mixed at The Basement, Chamblee, Georgia with piano tracks recorded at Landmark Christian Church, Doraville, Georgia. The late Ralph Murphy will be honored with the Frances Williams Preston Mentor Award during the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala on Monday, Oct. 14. “Ralph Murphy lived his life in service to songwriters; sharing his time and his expertise to help them achieve their potential,” said Sarah Cates, Chair of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Foundation. “He personified the qualities that this award strives to recognize, and it is our privilege to honor him and his legacy in this way.” NaSHOF Board member/Hall of Fame songwriter Pat Alger added, “Although he was unfortunately still unaware of it, the nominating committee and board of directors had already voted to present this award to Ralph in honor of the many years of service and stewardship he brought to the songwriting community.
