Brett Young continued to bat a thousand as “Catch” slid into the No. One spot at Country radio on both the Mediabase/Country Airplay and Billboard Country charts. His sixth consecutive chart-topper via BMLG Records simultaneously strikes GOLD with RIAA certifications in the U.S. and Canada. Young wrote “Catch” alongside Ashley Gorley and Ross Copperman. The song has over 141 million streams worldwide and follows five PLATINUM hits.

Willie Nelson celebrated his 87th birthday April 29 with the YouTube premiere of his 1976 TV appearance on Austin City Limits, where he performed his seminal album Red Headed Stranger front to back. The classic album also celebrates its birthday as it turns 45. Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, will also release an exclusive “blood splattered clear vinyl” edition of Red Headed Stranger at Barnes & Noble which will be released on July 10th. While many others a quarter of his age are trying to figure out how to keep productively engaged these days, Willie has been a whirlwind of activity during the shutdown. He has performed in a number of fundraising events including the Luck Reunion Til Further Notice event, At Home With Farm Aid, Come And Toke It and Jack Johnson’s Kokua Festival. Lewis Brice’s topped the Radio Disney Country singles chart in April with “It’s You” his first release of 2020 that has already amassed more than 1 million streams. Fans can watch Brice perform this single and more during his weekly Monday night Happy Hour, “Live with Lewis,” at 5 p.m. CST on his Facebook and Instagram. Co-written with Ben Simonetti and Niko Moon, “It’s You” follows a monumental year for Brice that included a BCMA International Song of the Year award for his single “Blessed” and amassing more than 11 million streams across all music platforms. Arista’s Nashville breakthrough entertainer Matt Stell thought he was being “fooled” when he joined a Zoom video call with Ash Bowers (Wide Open Music), Barry Weiss (RECORDS), Randy Goodman (Sony Music Nashville), Mitch Glazier (RIAA), and Jackie Jones (RIAA).  The group surprised Stell with a virtual platinum song plaque, the first of its kind, celebrating his “career-changing” (Music Row) multi-week No. 1 smash and the only Billboard chart-topper by a debut artist in 2019, “Prayed For You,” hitting the one million unit milestone. As one of only 30 RIAA platinum-certified country songs in the last two years, “Prayed For You,” written by Stell with Ash Bowers and Allison Veltz Cruz, joins an elite group. The nationally-syndicated television show “The Song – Recorded Live @ TGL Farms” was seen in over 140 markets earlier this year, and 18 of the iconic hits recorded for season one will be available at virtually all digital service providers and online retailers beginning May 1, 2020.
