iHeart Media Nashville’s The Big 98 to Host 7th Annual “Songs & Stories for St. Jude”

iHeart Media Communities, the community engagement brand of iHeart Media, and The BIG 98, Nashville’s #1 for New Country, today announced the Seventh Annual “Songs & Stories for St. Jude”, a live “in the round” style concert and auction to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Big 98 will host the event on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 3rd & Lindsley.  Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the opening performance will take the stage at 7:00 p.m.

Concert attendees will experience a special performance from seven award winning and critically acclaimed songwriters such as Josh Osborne, Lee Miller, Ashley Gorley, Wendell Mobley, Nicolle Galyon, Rodney Clawson and a “surprise” guest. Writers will share personal experiences and stories behind country music’s biggest hits in an effort to support cancer research and families with children undergoing treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A silent auction will accompany the evening’s festivities featuring autographed memorabilia, items donated by Country artists and exclusive Country music experiences.

Midday host and co-captain of Team BIG 98’s Amy Paige will host the event on Tuesday April 16, 2019 at 3rd & Lindsley. She says, “I couldn’t be more proud of this event and Team BIG 98. Songs and Stories is an exchange of gifts. The writers share their gift of storytelling. There’s an entire room filled with people who couldn’t be more grateful to be there and listen. And, the best part? Families at St Jude receive free treatment, along with the gift of hope, that one day our children will live in a world free of cancer. It’s seriously one big hug.”

About the Songwriters

Josh Osborne

Josh is a multi-platinum, GRAMMY Award winning songwriter based in Nashville, Tenn. who has notched 17 No.1s on the Country charts and is the reigning Music Row Top Country Songwriter of the Year. Ashley Gorley

Ashley Gorley has written 39 #1 singles and has more than 300 songs recorded by artists such as Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean and Darius Rucker. He was named the ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year in 2009, and then 5 years in a row starting in 2014 and was the NSAI Songwriter of the Year in 2013, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Gorley has been nominated for multiple Grammy and CMA Awards, he was nominated for the ACM Award Songwriter of the Year in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and has received CMA’s Triple Play Award eight times in his career, which recognizes songwriters with three or more #1 songs in one year. Wendell Mobley

Wendell Mobley’s songs have been at #1 for 25 weeks and have sold over 60 million records. The Celina, OH native’s first cut as a single was Alabama’s “We Can’t Love Like This Anymore” in 1994. Since then he’s written #1 hits such as “Take Me There” and “Fast Cars and Freedom” by Rascal Flatts, “How Forever Feels” and “There Goes My Life” by Kenny Chesney, “Tattoos In This Town” and “A Little More Summertime” by Jason Aldean, and “How Country Feels” by Randy Houser.

Nicolle Galyon

Nicolle Galyon is an ACM and NSAI Song of the Year winning singer/song-writer/producer from Sterling, Kansas.  As an artist, Galyon appeared on the 2nd season of NBC’s The Voice and was chosen by Adam Levine for his team. As a songwriter, she celebrated her first #1 with “We Were Us”, a duet by Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert. Nicolle also penned, “Automatic”, the #1 lead single from Lambert’s album Platinum, which included 5 songs by Galyon. Galyon’s most recent #1 songs include Kenny Chesney’s “All The Pretty Girls”, Keith Urban’s “Coming Home” & Dan & Shay’s multi-week #1 “Tequila”, which has been nominated for CMA Song of the Year and has also taken a run up the Hot AC Charts.

Rodney Clawson
