“My vehicles are the viola, the instrument I’ve played professionally for thirty-five years, and the guitar, my childhood sweetheart. I hope that you will enjoy hearing the complex joy and lightness of Joe Pass, the emotional and intellectual depth of Bach, the sweetness and simplicity of Tárrega, the lyrical story telling of Villa-Lobos, the English pastoral sensibility of Vaughan Williams, the modern landscape of Walton, and the fun of Laurence Juber. I hope you enjoy the journey, and thank you very much for listening.” ~ Steven Allen Gordon ~

“All Over The Map” is nothing like what you would think from the title. It’s tightly woven and masterful, filling your senses with visions of exquisite classical pieces. His work spans various styles, genres, professions and yet all create a masterful collection.

“Suite in D minor for Solo Viola- J. S. Bach – Gigue is riveting with energy and performed with such robust that it brings to life the drama within the track.

“Ballad for Viola and Piano – Ralph Vaughn Williams” presents with an elegant melody, vibrant and upbeat and ends with a gentle but heavy hearted slower pace.

“Blues Intro – Joe Pass” clearly displays hints of jazz and blues overtone that eloquently complement each other. From the first to last note the precision is impeccable.

If you allow your imagination to take you on spiritual journey through the essence of sounds and visual invitations created with each note you can transcend all boundaries of time and space with each track on this album. Not only will you find the superb classical feel with each track you will also experience the eclectic personal joining of artist and instrument.

All Over the Map shows a musician very much at the top of his game, taking the time to play around for fun, exploring new instruments and textures to create a sonically stunning piece. We have a long way to go to make it through this winter but with this warming, pensive record, it may just be the stuff of memories.”~ Jon C. Ireson, Music News ~
