Fall Smokin’ Hit Songwriters Seminar will be September 7, 8 & 9, 2012 with Dave Gibson, Daisy Dern, John Wiggins, Alex Harvey & Marla Sitten at Jim Oliver’s Smoke House on Monteagle Mountain in TN, right off of I-24, exit 134, located 90 miles East of Nashville and 45 miles West of Chattanooga.

Dave Gibson, former front man of the ACM Award Winning Gibson Miller Band, has penned such hits as “Jukebox In My Mind”, “Queen of Memphis”, and “Lonely and Gone”.  John Wiggins has had number ones with Blake Shelton (“Who Are You When I’m Not Lookin’”) and Joe Nichols (“Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off”) . Alex Harvey is known for his legendary success with Tanya Tucker’s “Delta Dawn,”  to name just one.  Daisy Dern is a former Mercury recording artist and current co-founder and creative director of Savannah Music Group. Marla Sitten is a public relations guru and notorious “dot connector” for Nashville’s music industry.
 
Smokin’ Hit Songwriters Seminar is an inspiring, fun and refreshing approach to living your music dreams.  This weekend long retreat has become an industry leader in music education delivered in a motivating way.  Smokin Hit Songwriters is held at the world famous “Jim Oliver’s Smoke House,” nestled high on top of Monteagle mountain in East Tennessee.
 
The Smokin’ Hit Songwriters Seminar will feature the following::
Friday night Open Mic:
The first 30 participants to sign up for Smokin’ Hit Songwriters Seminar will sing one song in an open-mic songwriting contest Friday night (September 7).
The winner will receive a co-writing session with songwriter Dave Gibson and a Single Song Publishing Deal.  There will be prizes for second and third places as well. 
For participants 31-100 there will be a “Submit a Recorded Song” contest where the winner will receive a Single Song Publishing Deal.
 
Saturday  panel discussion with Dave Gibson, Daisy Dern and John Wiggins.  Get artist insight, the publisher perspective and amazing tips from hit writers. This session is bound to be delivered with true life stories and wisdom!  There will also be a networking brain storming, co-writing assignment and exercise with Marla Sitten.
 
Saturday night concert with Dave Gibson, John Wiggins, Daisy Dern and Alex Harvey in the Smoke House Lodge.
 
Sunday:  A “Come To Jesus Meeting” with Alex Harvey.  “Let your Soul Shine!”  This will be a life changing emotional experience that you won’t want to miss!  Also, don’t miss closing thoughts and inspirations from Marla Sitten.  Contest Winners announced.

Dave Gibson is the former front man of the Academy of Country Music award winning Gibson Miller Band.  Dave has had dozens of songs recorded as a songwriter, including five #1’s and a multitude of top 10 hits with artists such as Alabama (“Jukebox In My Mind), Tanya Tucker (“If It Don’t Come Easy”), Montgomery Gentry (“Lonely and Gone”), Steve Wariner (“Midnight Fire” and “Heart Trouble”), Joe Diffie (“Ships That Don’t Come In”), and many more.
 
Daisy Dern is the Co-founder and creative director of Savannah Music Group, an independent publishing company onNashville’s Music Row. Daisy attended Berklee College of Music and graduated from San Francisco State Universitywith a degree in Music Business. Daisy was signed to Mercury Nashville in 2000 and had some chart success with her single entitled “Gettin’ Back To You.”  She currently oversees all daily publishing operations of Savannah Music Group, writes and performs.
John Wiggins is well known as part of the brother/sister duo “The Wiggins” which was signed to PolyGram/Mercury Records.  Their two record releases spawned five successful singles that received several award nominations.  John has had cuts by Alan Jackson, John Michael Montgomery and Ricky Skaggs among others, and most recently Reba McEntire and Don Henley.  His singles include Randy Houser’s “Anything Goes,” Joe Nichols’ number one hit “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” and Blake Shelton’s chart-topper “Who Are You When I’m Not Lookin’.”

Marla Sitten is well known as a Nashville publicist, journalist, and music industry insider. Her network of friends and colleagues is legendary. She is a one-of-a-kind dot connector and business-deal facilitator as well as a profile-builder in the entertainment community.

This will be a life changing emotional experience that you won’t want to miss!
 
Alex Harvey is responsible for penning such hits as “Delta Dawn” (recorded by Tanya Tucker), “Reuben James” (recorded by Kenny Rogers), and “Rings” (a country hit for the Glaser Brothers and a pop hit for Cymarron). Alex has also had songs cut by Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Billy Ray Cyrus; seventeen hit songs cut by Kenny Rogers, and many more!  The songs he has written have sold in excess of 100 million copies.  Alex is also a talented actor.
