Dreams Come True For Pennsylvania Native

Nashville, TN – Country music legend, Charley Pride’s upcoming CD release in February will include “The Bottom Line,” a song co-written by Washington, Pennsylvania’s own native son, Art Craig.

Art Craig A graduate of Trinity High School, Art Craig was a passionate poetry writer until childhood friend, Rick Morris gathered up several of his poems and recorded song demos.  After listening, the local radio station praised his material and encouraged him to visit Nashville.  So Art, with tapes in hand, took that walk down famed “16th Avenue” in search of his dreams.  BMI’s Thomas Cain told Art, “You have what it takes,” and gave him a list of music publishers.  First on that list was Justin Peters at Tourmaline Music, Inc.  Justin immediately signed Art to an exclusive writer’s deal; after which, Art moved his family to Nashville, and the journey began.

Since that initial walk down Music Row, Art has sharpened his songwriting skills.  He has been blessed with cuts by Little Miss USA, Diamond & the Desert Crusaders, reggae man Kashief Lindo, and country artist Jason Rogers, but this cut is special.  Art is honored to have his creation interpreted by industry legend, Charley Pride.  Over the past thirty years, Pride has remained one of the Top 20 best-selling country artists of all-time. His incredible legacy includes 36 #1 hit singles, over 70 million albums sold, 31 gold and 4 platinum albums – including 1 quadruple platinum.

After friends pointed out how often he said the phrase, “the bottom line,” Art thought it was time to turn it into a song.  When co-writing with Justin Peters and Drew Bourke, the concept was conceived, love is “the bottom line.”   A perfect fit for Charley who married the love of his life, Rozene at the start of his career.

Family and friends in Western Pennsylvania are anxiously awaiting the release.  Art notes, “I want to thank all the believers back home, Rick Morris, Wolfdale Community Church, Justin Peters, Ben and Jackie Peters and my family.  Without the Lord in my life and the inspiration of those around me, my dream would not have come true.”
