Doug Seegers, Homeless to the Opry Stage At 67

At 67 years old, his first U.S. music album, A Story I Got To Tell, recorded and mastered in Los Angeles with Grammy Award-winning producer Joe Henry (Carolina Chocolate Drops, Rosanne Cash, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, The Swell Season), will debut May 31 on BMG.

Seegers has battled homelessness and drug and alcohol addiction for most of his life, the majority of which he spent on Nashville streets. Luckily, he has recovered and has been clean for several years. Interestingly, since he took his first plane ride a few short years ago, he’s become a superstar in Sweden and various other EUR markets, with a #1 single on the international iTunes chart.

This new record is a celebration of humanity, perseverance and triumph as he brilliantly blends americana, folk and classic country, and for which he wrote 9 of the 11 tracks.

In celebration of his first U.S. album release, Seegers will take the Opry stage on Friday, May 31, billed alongside John Conlee, Dailey & Vincent, Kathy Mattea and Mark Wills
