Singer-songwriter Dan Rubinstein has released a hot new single for your enjoyment called “Don’t Break What You Cannot Fix.” This new single is from the album “Stolen Moments” set to be released this summer.
You’ll find a cool mix of intricate and spicy jazz with a splash of Latin rhythm progressions and some nice arrangements of traditional folk rock. The mood is charged with connotations of political thoughts and concerns about what our future world will face as well as thoughts of dysfunctional relationships and how they affect us.

I love the ebb and flow of the song and how the easy rhythm follows so smoothly with the acoustic guitar and warm bass.The jazz movement and folk feel of the guitar gives it an over all pleasant and inviting feel.
Rubinstein hales from the San Francisco Bay area and says that he has found the perfect recipe for his music by crafting lyrics and instrumentation the explores real-life events and emotions. The music reflects themes of social importance, the modern age and how it affects us today, love, and the mysteries of the realms of future possibilities.
Dan’s musical interests began as a child when he took a small interest in the piano but decided he wanted to move on to something. He felt he should have put more effort in to it but sadly didn’t. During his high school days he picked up the guitar and quickly began playing popular rock and pop songs. He pursued his mastery of the guitar and singing skills through college and then took another break from music to build a family.
While encouraging his children to find interest in music he learned to play violin, expanded his guitar skills, and writing skills. He has performed on local television competitions, music festivals, and does an occasional live performance. His passion is composing and writing in his home studio and building his online music forum.
Rubinstein is currently preparing to release a new 9 track album called “Stolen Moments.” It is a superb collection of acoustic style pop songs that are sure to pique your interest.

“In our lives
and relationships there is always the question of “what if?”.
The paths taken and untaken. What if we didn’t meet? What if we
didn’t break up? What if we had broken up sooner? Our experiences
bring with them a lot of emotion and memories. But there can only be
one reality, and no matter how good or bad it is, there is an
infinite realm of possibilities and each of those conjures up its own
imagined feelings and outcomes. Many of my songs explore this realm
of paths not taken.”
“Stolen
Moments is about first loves. Everything is new and special and
magical because like all first experiences there is nothing to
compare them to. We open ourselves, and become vulnerable. Do we
regret that vulnerability or does it become part of who we are?
Knowing how things turned out, should we have stolen those moments,
or borrowed them instead? What would we tell our younger selves if we
could?“
The lyrics were intentionally written to be interpreted to be between two lovers, one who is a narcissist bent on destruction. The other is attracted to the display of strength but ultimately when you break what you can not fix, everyone suffers.“ ~Dan Rubinstein~
Rubinstein presents in the style of folk, rock, and light jazz. He has been likened to artists such as Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Sting, Damien Rice, and Ed Sheeran.
