Writers’ Round: The Songs of Brad Paisley
, at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum Saturday, Feb. 18, at 2:00 p.m. in the museum’s Ford Theater. Paisley has remained loyal to this quartet of writers throughout his career. They, in turn, have helped him achieve a consistent sound and a distinct, authentic voice. As longtime friends and collaborators with Paisley, the writers will share personal stories and offer insights into some of Paisley’s biggest hits.

This talent-packed round includes some of N ashville’s most successful songwriters.  Featured songwriters include:
  • Chris DuBois has been ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year, and NSAI Songwriter of the Year (twice). He founded Sea Gayle Music with Brad Paisley and Frank Rogers and has worked as both songwriting partner and executive producer for Paisley. His hits with Paisley include “Little Moments,” “Mud on the Tires,” “This Is Country Music,” “We Danced” and over a dozen more. DuBois also has had songs recorded by Chris Janson, Darius Rucker, Josh Turner, and Mark Wills. He co-produced Janson’s latest album.
  • Ashley Gorley, a native of Danville, Kentucky, has been ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year four times and NSAI Songwriter of the Year twice. Gorley’s songwriting career has produced thirty #1 singles for artists like Luke Bryan, Billy Currington, Thomas Rhett and Carrie Underwood. Gorley’s hits with Paisley include “American Saturday Night” (with Lovelace), “Start a Band” (with Lovelace and Dallas Davidson), “Then” (with DuBois), and “Today” (with DuBois).
  • Kelley Lovelace, originally from Paducah, Kentucky, was primarily raised in Hixson, Tennessee, on the outskirts of Chattanooga. His pursuit of a career in country music brought him to Nashville’s Belmont University, where he met fellow student Brad Paisley. Their friendship and subsequent songwriting partnership have been fruitful, resulting in hits including “He Didn’t’ Have to Be,” “Remind Me” (with DuBois), “Ticks” (with Tim Owens), and “Two People Fell in Love” (with Owens). Lovelace has also penned songs recorded by Jason Aldean, Terri Clark, Hunter Hayes, Randy Houser, Joe Nichols, and Carrie Underwood. 
  • Lee Thomas Miller hails from Nicholasville, Kentucky, and is the president of the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Miller’s work with Paisley includes the songs “Perfect Storm,” and “I’m Still a Guy,” “Without a Fight,” and “The World” (with Lovelace). Miller has also written hits for Terri Clark, Garth Brooks, and Tim McGraw. His song “In Color,” recorded by Jamey Johnson, won both ACM and CMA Song of the Year in 2009.
Writers’ Round: The Songs of Brad Paisley is included with museum admission and is free to museum members. Limited seating is available, and a program pass is required. The program will be streamed live at countrymusichalloffame.org/streaming.
The program is presented in support of the exhibit Brad Paisley: Diary of a Player, at the museum through May 14, 2017. The exhibit details Paisley’s career, including his debut at 13 on WWVA’s Jamboree USA, and his emergence a few years later as a top country music songwriter, guitarist and performer.
