Florida native, born in the deep south in Mississippi, and independent country music artist, Buddy Brown is blazing a trail so hot that I’m not sure anyone would dare try to put it out. That trail is headed straight up the country music charts and there is no end in sight.
Born and raised in Madison MS and currently making his home in Florida, Buddy Brown is quickly attracting the attention of what a true country music artist is. He is devoted to family and country and believes in holding true to those honest hard working values he grew up on. Those values that impress upon us the importance of home and family, hard work, high morals and standing up for what you believe in.
What began as a past time and enjoyable hobby soon became a career in country music. Since that humble beginning he has toured the country with several grounded and firmly planted country music artists; Florida Georgia Line, Colt Ford, Justin Moore and several more.
He began in 2009 playing his music steadily for audiences through social media. His wife, Elizabeth worked along side Buddy to create a marketing plan that would set things into super fast motion. Through simple social media outlets the response was unbelievable. The past couple of years it has exploded with Brown having amassed a following of over 450,000 fans on FaceBook alone and his music has drawn almost 70 million hits on YouTube and FaceBook, all without the help of a label, a promoter, a booking agency or radio.
The song I wanted to feature today is called “Red Like Reagan” and was written by Buddy just after the election of 2016. He said that right after the elections people were loosing it and wanting to leave the country so he felt writing this song might help folks understand that we have it a lot better than some of these other countries and that maybe standing up for our own was really the way to go. “Red Like Reagan” has exploded on social media and fans are definitely supporting it…110%.
While on the subject of Social Media, Facebook eventually censored the video. I guess that felt it wasn’t meeting the requirements or was too “political”….. At the time it was censored the video had 1.8 million views but fans would not allow it to be held back and began sharing it privately. Censorship made him a star because shortly after it was banned it hit 4.8 million views. I like those numbers.
His 9th EP was recorded in Nashville TN at Zac Brown’s studio, Southern Ground and features 7 super new songs. This EP debuted at #4 on iTunes and hit with a wholping 5 million video views. He has garnerd over 180,000 listeners on Spotify and latest update tells me that “Deer Camp” reached over 1 million hits in just 9 short days.
His previous EP “I Call BS On That” debuted at #1 on iTunes Country Charts and also graced Billboard at #22. The video for “I Call BS On That” garnered over 4 million views in just one short week on social media FaceBook and had over 100,00 shares.

Buddy enjoys being his own boss and says that he will keep playing his kind of music and doing it his way regardless. He draws a lot of his inspiration from greats like Charlie Daniels and Randy Travis. He said that they have inspired him to be himself and not settle for less.
