Cody Webb “Sticks” With Country

Vere Music artist/songwriter Cody Webb doesn’t make excuses about who he is as an artist or where he’s from and he relishes both on his new, label debut “Sticks.” Listen HERE.

“I’ve wanted to release ‘Sticks’ ever since the day Larry McCoy and I wrote it in February 2019,” said Webb. “This song is so much fun to play live and we’ve been kicking off our show with it for over a year now. To me, this song expresses how awesome it is growing up in the middle of nowhere. I couldn’t be more excited for everyone to hear this one.”

With more than a million streams for his early release “Jon Boat” and a cut on Luke Comb’s multi-Platinum debut This One’s For You, Webb has found a growing audience of like-minded music purists, who are just as passionate about Friday night as they are about Sunday morning.

Webb grew up in Ridge Spring, S.C. where his mom was the music minister at his hometown church and his dad was a musician who introduced his offspring to southern rock including Lynryd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers, classic rock bands including Pink Floyd, and the one-name legends of country Waylon, Merle, Willie, and Jones.

He studied mechanical engineering at Clemson University, but found his calling with Eric Church. “I had an immediate appreciation for him as a songwriter,” said Webb. “I wanted to write from an authentic place and I want to release great songs that make me feel something whether it’s upbeat or a slow burn.”

Webb knows what his fans want after grinding it out on the road opening for Morgan Wallen, Cole Swindell, Easton Corbin, Charlie Daniels, LoCash, and headlining his own hugely popular college tailgate shows. During the COVID pandemic, he scaled back to perform acoustic backyard concerts as part of his “House Calls Tour” for people who were isolated and yearning to hear live music. The experience made an impression.

“Our House Calls Tour has completely changed the way I look at touring,” offered Webb. “I feel like I’ve made so many personal connections with people and families all over the place that I never would have gotten without a year of shows being canceled. One of my favorite things about touring and playing shows is meeting great people. I’ve never had so many chances to meet so many great people and make some of the best memories I’ve ever had playing music right in people’s backyards!”

A no-holds performer with a devoted following, Webb is taking that granular experience and applying it to his current tour. See the full schedule HERE.
