The Farmers Insurance Thank America’s Teachers bus tour arrived at CMA Music Festival for the fourth stop on its national tour. Country star and CMA and Grammy Award nominated vocalist Chris Young joined the insurer for a special surprise event on Saturday, honoring Young’s former music teacher, Brenda Gregory for her hard work and dedication to her students. Young presented Gregory with a $2,500 check to fund her classroom needs and continue motivating students now and in the future.
Inspired by the great work done by teachers every day, Farmers Insurance created the Thank America’s Teachers initiative to say thank you to those individuals molding young minds in the classroom across the country, giving away more than $1,000,000 in the process. Thank America’s Teachers features an iconic yellow school bus traveling coast-to-coast delivering opportunities to say thank you to teachers making a difference in the lives of their students.
At the fourth stop on its national tour, fans at CMA Music Festival were invited to stop by the Thank America’s Teachers bus to share their thanks to a teacher who has made an impact on their lives and vote for proposals submitted by teachers across the country to receive grant funding from Farmers Insurance.
“Education takes place in all different forms and forums, and we are thrilled to have been a part of CMA Fest, honoring the art of music and education,” said Kelly LaMar, managing lead of Thank America’s Teachers at Farmers Insurance. “With Chris Young’s help, we were able to deliver a heartfelt thank you to a Nashville-area teacher who embodies why we created the Thank America’s Teachers program in the first place.”
“Music education played a huge role in shaping my career and I’m glad to be here today to honor and thank my former teacher, Mrs. Brenda Gregory, and help support the next generation of music students here at home in Middle Tennessee,” shared Country Music star Chris Young.
