CD Review: Curly Putman “Write em Sad – Sing ’em Lonesome”

Curley Putman’s Write ’em Sad – Sing ’em Lonesome is the new eleven-song album from the 80 year old songwriting legend that features the writer’s own interpretations of some of his biggest hits. With plenty of great fiddle and steel, this is a collection of great country ballads that are fitting to album’s title. The album includes “Older The Violin,” as well as “Green, Green Grass of Home,” one of Putman’s most successful and most recorded songs. The album also feature three duets including “Made For Loving You” with country superstar Dolly Parton. Along with Adam Englehardt, it is safe to say that Curly Putman has produced a great traditional country music record. Portions of the proceeds from this album will benefit the Sean Putman Memorial Fund in memory of Curly’s grandson who sadly passed away from cancer. For more information visit seanputman.com.

  1. Curly: I think this is great. It seems like yesterday that Jack Stapp sent me upstairs to talk with you, in your office, across from the toilet! Best wishes, Milton
