Bonnaroo Artist Review: Alberta Cross

This British, southern rock feel band has come a long way. The band originally formed with Petter Ericson Stakee, vocals and guitar, and Terry Wolfers, bass guitar. When the two relocated to Brooklyn, the other members, Sam Kearney, Alec Higgins and Austin Beede joined the group. Their strong guitar riffs and power chords have been linked to sounds of Neil Young and The Band. Their folk rock and blues rock have an interesting twist as they are shown in each song. The difference ties the band so well together. As well as performing the Bonnaroo stage this summer in Manchester, TN, they will be joining the Dave Matthews Band Caravan multi stage festivals in the summer. More rock, blues tones are demonstrated in “Old Man Chicago.” “Taking Control” has a rock tone to it, although the folk-y voice shines through each song! You will find these songs and many more on their album, Broken Side of Time.
