Bluegrass Sensation The Grascals Welcome a New Member and New Album for the New Year

Grascals' Album "and then there's this..." with new vocalist John Bryan is set to release 1.8.16

Gracals VerticalFrom high atop the Appalachia mountains and deep in the hollers of Kentucky you’ll find the rich and powerful bluegrass traditional sounds indicative of The Grascals. The Grascals are a tight nit bluegrass group that has to date played the Grand Ole Opry at least 178 times. A testament to the fact that folks love good, old fashion, home spun bluegrass music.

With deep roots and pride in the tradition of bluegrass music, groups like The Grascals are held up in high honors. This is pure gold, wild bear, and home cooking in the hills kind of music.

The Grascals have been apart of the Bluegrass family for over 10 years now and have remained consistent in founding members until recently when Jamie Johnson decided to step aside and young bluegrass extraordinaire John Bryan has stepped into his place.

Instrumentally this group has it all. Banjo’s are blazing with Kristen Benson and with each set of unique talents the instrumentation on this album is of the highest caliber in the industry, in this genre. The guitars are crisp and clear with precision tone. Terry Eldridge is solid and engaging. The mandolin echo’s with a rich, heartwarming, natural flow.

Harmony’s are distinctive with an impressionable quality as the group welcomes new lead singer John Bryan. This is the first album released since John, whose musical roots run deep with his lineage in the industry joined the group. His grandparents Willard and Ora Watson are infamous for their bluegrass talents as well as having their other creative and gifted talents displayed in the wood carving and quilting collections of the Smithsonian in Washington DC.

From his interview with the WataugaDemocrat.com John said: “There are a lot of great musicians and singers out there who deserve a break,” he said. “I cannot tell you how blessed I am that I have been chosen to be a part of this amazing bluegrass band.” ~John Bryan~

Grascals 2Lyrically the album will take you back to the good old days of family dinners, summer choirs in the field at a church picnic and sitting by the old radio listening to the Grand Ole Opry. The lryics are life, old gospel and heart. You’ll sing along to find your perfect spot in the powerfully bright harmony.

At top of the charts with Allison Krauss, Foggy Mountain Boys, and Earnest Tubb…The Grascals are like a fine sip of crisp clear mountain shine…..pure, sweet, and smooth right down to the last drop.

As a high profile group of artists The Grascals have been going strong. Even though a few band members have change over the last few years, the tight bond between the vocals holds firm, and now that John has joined the group fans will hear a depth ready to draw you in.

Grascals 1John elaborated on his accomplishment of attaining such a grand opportunity to work with The Grascals, “When I was first approached about the group I was nervous and excited. I had been highly recommended if they were ever looking for a new member. After they consider me, I was asked to fill in for a weekend and see if I thought it would be a good fit. I learned all the songs before the show and it was amazing. A few days later they called and said I had the job if I wanted it. One of my goals was to play the Opry… and I did, with the Grascals, this last October. It was magical.” ~John Bryan~

“And Then There’s This” is set for release date of January 8th, 2016 fans can visit Itunes to pre-order and receive the opportunity to have up to 6 songs, some on instant download.
