Bastian Baker to Play Nashville’s Back Corner on January 30

Singer/songwriter Bastian Baker spent the majority of 2018 performing in front of over 1.1 million people at 77 shows in 16 countries on Shania Twain’s Now World Tour, which wrapped on December 22 in New Zealand. With a tremendous amount of critical acclaim for his acoustic opening set “in a style reminiscent of Ed Sheeran’s early performances,” (Guitar World) masses of new fans and recent streaming success, all signs point to the bona-fide Swiss star having “set his sights on American audiences” (Rolling Stone), and indicate it’s “only the beginning of the singer’s U.S. story.” (Sounds Like Nashville) Bastian will return to the US later this month for headlining shows in NYC and Nashville.

Bastian shares, “It’s been the experience of a lifetime. I’m extremely grateful and will forever be to have seen so many places, met so many new fans and learned so much from my dear friend Shania Twain, who is undoubtedly one of the best entertainers of all time.  This opportunity has changed my life. It’s super emotional for all of us to wrap up such a big tour. But, after spending New Year’s Eve together in The Swiss Alps reminiscing on all the good times we’ve had, it’s time for me to dive back into my own project and tour and discover what’s out there in 2019.”
The “hot Swiss singer-songwriter with a country twang” (People) earned a spot on several year-end and “Artist To Watch” lists from Rolling StoneAOLYoung HollywoodSounds Like Nashville and Taste of CountryIn November, the “Swiss troubadour” (Boston Globe) attended his first award show in the United States at the 52ndAnnual CMA Awards in Nashville. He chatted with Billboard and more on the red carpet about being the first Swiss artist to attend the star-studded event. Donned in Hugo Boss, Bastian earned “Best Dressed” nods from USA Today and more.
In the midst of the year’s madness, Baker released his self-titled fourth studio/American debut album in October. Influenced by the 850 shows he’s played in over 40 countries in the last seven years, the project has been named “one of the biggest breakouts of the year” (Popdust) as it “plays with genre, refusing to get pinned down to a singular aesthetic, and yet still feels unified.” (Popdust) The genre-defying project was brought to life by producers and songwriters around the globe including GRAMMY Award-winner Jacquire King (Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan, Kings of Leon, Bon Jovi). The latest project showcases Bastian’s “down-to-Earth storytelling that Johnny Cash would smile and nod at” (Popdust) with writing credits on all 14 tracks.
