Artists and Celebrities Come Together For Ty Herndon’s Concert For Love And Acceptance, Supporting At-Risk Youth

On June 12th, 2015, artists and celebrities from across the country will come together for the inauguralConcert for Love and Acceptance at City Winery (609 Lafayette St.) in Nashville, Tenn.

Herndon, along with political commentator and author Meghan McCain, will host the event, which will feature performances by nationally acclaimed artists that will be announced over the coming weeks.

Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning artist Ty Herndon created theConcert for Love and Acceptance in partnership with GLAAD, which has evolved from being his 20th anniversary fan club party into a coalition of artists and celebrities appearing and performing in support of at-risk youth in the Nashville community. The driving force behind the event is Herndon’s desire to bring about a positive change in the world; to help young people who are at risk find help and lead full and productive lives, and to encourage them to make good choices.

The event will be commemorated by the presentation of the first RALY Awards (Rescue A Life Y’all), which will honor and celebrate individuals and businesses that have demonstrated their support of at-risk youth and saving lives.

Herndon comments, “I truly hoped that the day would come when I could host an event encouraging an environment that would make it easier for young people at risk to get help and feel comfortable about who they are, and not have to go through the same struggles that I have faced.”

Herndon made country music history last November when he became the first male country music artist to come out as openly gay.  For years, he had kept this secret because he believed that in order to live his dream of being a country music singer, he could not live his life in the way that he would have chosen.  Since his announcement, he has been overwhelmed with the positive support and feedback from his fans and the country music industry.

The Concert for Love and Acceptance marks Herndon’s first Nashville concert appearance since late last year.

Doors to the event will open at 2:00 p.m. and the show will start at 3:00 p.m. Tickets go on-sale April 2 and will be available for purchase at Concert For Love and Acceptance.
