Americana Roots Artist Matt Epp Releases Superb Collection Called “Shadowlands”

I love the music that Matt Epp has out right now. It’s nice fun and upbeat mellow rock. It’s clean and fresh and not muddy. The instrumentation and vocals are paired perfectly and the harmonies are truly inviting.

This is a great collection and I know you’ll love it. The guitar rifts are pristine and tight. Behind the guitar is a well balanced percussion section.

“Not unlike Ryan Adams, Epp has this weighty pitch that travels right to the core, and can either make your heart feel incredibly heavy or lift you right to your feet. If you like music, you’ll like this.” – Uptown Magazine

“Runaway” is brilliant. It’s a great song for summer fun and the video will take you there to river, to the water, with friends and allow you to enjoy the feeling of being there even though you may only be watching from the sidelines.

Matt Epp is an award winning songwriter and super talented musician/artist. He is part of a rare breed of talent that will not only mesmerize you with the lyrics and melody of a song, he will place you in the song.

“…the main thing is that Matt Epp is simply one of the best of a generation of fine songwriters emerging in this country over the last decade or so, and carrying forward the torch of Canadian songwriting that goes back to Lightfoot, Mitchell, Young, Cohen and Cockburn. It’s what we’re really good at.” —Gary Cristall, Vancouver Folk Music Festival

Epps voice and singing ability is easy on your ears, your heart and your mind. It’s like pure waves of enjoyment. It’s not harsh, it’s inviting. He reminds me of Neil Young, I like the essence of his voice.

Born in the Canadian Prairies, he has attained great admiration from listeners all around the world and now we are able to present his music to you here.

Please take a break and enjoy his video for “Runaway”:

“I took my time writing this album. I didn’t just include songs that I was trying to make ‘hits’ from. This is my 10th studio album but it feels like a debut for me; it could be self-titled. I think I was/am using the process of this album to work through a lot of challenges and it’s the first time I’ve given an album of mine a role that important. Maybe I thought I had to have answers before. Now I’m asking questions, and am better off having no answers.” ~ Matt Epp ~
