Wade Hayes set to release new album June 9th titled “Old Country Song” on Conabar Records

Appearing at various venues this week Hayes is introducing his newest project “Old Country Song” album set to be released on June 9th. This is an 11 track collection of both old and new songs, it was produced by Dave McAfee and Hayes and released on Conabar Records.

Hayes appeared on June 6th at the Storme Warren’s Nashville Navy Party at the Famous Saloon, tonight Wade appears at the Hermitage House Smorgasbord and he will also appear tomorrow, June 8th at 2:35pm on the Durango Music Spot Stage in the Music City Center inside Xfinity Fan Fair X. During the evening fans can catch Hayes again when he will perform in Printers Alley at Alley Taps Gin Mill.

Through out the summer Hayes will be touring throughout Texas, on to Michigan, across to the beautiful Arizona and back to the sunny state of Florida.

Four tracks on the album were written and co-written by Wade. He partnered with artists Mark Collie and Clint Ingersoll on two cuts. You’ll find cuts on the album penned or previously recorded by a host of great singer/songwriters such as Roger Springer, Jon Randall and Jessi Alexander, Chris Stapleton, Tim Menzies, Don Cook, John Jarvis, Merle Haggard and Dean Holloway.

In the last weeks of 2011 Wade received a life a shattering diagnosis that he had advanced colorectal cancer. His successful surgery and chemo removed the cancer but a year later the cancer had returned. The great news to this part of the story is that after additional treatments he is currently cancer free.

This life changing event lead to an amazing project of some of the most touching and heartfelt songs called “Go Live Your Life”….and believe me, it is a moving collection.

Over the last two years Hayes has been involved in organizing an event called The Country Hits Back Concert that helps to benefit the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center. The proceeds go to help support finding a cure for colorectal cancer. This year Randy Owen of the group Alabama and Tracy Lawrence will appear.

“I grew up listening to Haggard, Waylon and Willie – classic country artists – and they’ve all had a huge influence on my writing and my music,” said Hayes. “I wanted to make a record that honored them, and I’m really proud of what we came up with.” ~Wade Hayes~
