Tracy Lawrence Hosts 5th Annual Mission Possible Turkey Fry

Pre-Thanksgiving Event Generates Awareness And Welcomes Community Support For The Nashville Rescue Mission

Award winning, multi-platinum, country recording artist Tracy Lawrence will host his
Mission Possible
Turkey Fry, on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 to benefit the  Nashville Rescue Mission.

Committed to serving Nashville with music and deed for the past five years, Lawrence's Mission Possible has become a highly anticipated event to raise money and generate awareness as well as provide food for the local mission.

The Nashville Rescue Mission works hard to care for the homeless and rehabilitate those working through personal issues such as addiction or abuse. Our mission is to raise awareness of the services provided by the Nashville Rescue Mission to the homeless, as well as to remind the community of the 'everyday' need to support our local Mission and neighbors all year-round.
This event is one of my favorites of the year. It's a true and heartfelt gesture by all; I'm in awe each year of

the support from my friends and the community who come out to lend a hand, make a donation, and fry up some turkeys,”
Lawrence said.

Joining in on the outdoor fry festivities, in the parking lot of the Nashville Rescue Mission (located at 639 Lafayette Street in downtown Nashville), will be Brad Arnold, GAC's Suzanne Alexander, Burns & Poe, Chelsea Field, Matt Gary, LoCash Cowboys, Lathan Moore, Lorrie Morgan, Danielle Peck, The Roys, Jett Williams and the Titans Cheerleaders with additional celebrities being confirmed daily. Abba Java,
Blue Rhino, Four Seasons Coach Leasing, Ink On Paper, J.M. Holm & Co., Lighthouse Charity and Richards & Southern, Inc. are sponsorship partners in the all-day event with their donation of goods, services and time.  All three Nashville country music stations (WKDF, WSIX and WSM-FM/The Wolf) will celebrate the spirit of the outing to bring music to the location.

The Mission Possible Turkey Fry is open to the public (a gift of a donation is appreciated.)

Since the Mission Possible inception, Lawrence and his friends have donated more than 5,000 turkeys, provided nearly 35,000 meals for the homeless and funds raised have exceeded $100,000.  Much like years past, Lawrence anticipates the group of celebrity cooks will fry up more than 500 turkeys over the course of the day on Tuesday, November 23.

Last year, Mission Possible raised nearly $15,000; more than 500 birds were cooked and served with a total of 950 turkeys donated to the Nashville Rescue Mission. The Nashville Rescue Mission shared the meals with other non-profit organizations (Meals On Wheels and Nashville Cares).

“Whether it's someone you know, a friend or a loved one, or a friend of a friend, or a distant stranger, we've all been in a bind or have suffered at one point or another.  People helping people shouldn't be a 'holiday' gesture, but part of our everyday routine. Care and kindness are free; it's the 'little things' we can share with our friends and neighbors in need that will make a great difference. It's a 'heart' decision; your small sacrifice can make BIG changes in someone's life!”—Tracy Lawrence
