Nashville Music Guide’s Acoustic Night at Douglas Corner

NASHVILLE MUSIC GUIDE’S Acoustic Performance Night At Douglas Corner First Thursday Of Each Month Starting February 2, 2012.

NASHVILLE MUSIC GUIDE (NMG) is proud to once again sponsor Acoustic Performance Night in 2012 on the First Thursday of Every Month. The first show in 2012 will be on February 2 from 8 pm till midnight with a no cover charge. The format of the event, hosted by NMG founder Dan Wunsch, is three veteran singer-songwriters and three “label ready” new faces showcasing their writing, singing and performing talents each in a 30 minute set.

Featured performers on February 2 are Boomer Castleman (Nashville’s virtuoso musician and mega-hit writer), Stephanie Quayle (recent LA Transplant with a suitcase of hit songs), Joe Matthews (Real Kountry songs with CD hot off the Press aka editor of NMG), Jamie Saylor (Real Kountry singer-songwriter, a favorite on the Nashville Country Club Scene), John Dakota (signed Colorado singer-songwriter with tunes in the style of Kristofferson) and others TBA with closing 60’s jam.

Why a performance night instead of a standard in-the-round songwriter night? In Wunsch’s own words, “Writers night are great if you want to listen to songs, but they fall short in showcasing the singer-songwriter as a performing artist. Because of single downloads, the new business model for the record industry is to sign ‘performing artists,’ who can build a fan base, tour and sell albums at their gigs. Hopefully this night will turn into an opportunity for the industry to hear a few of these ‘undiscovered‘ artists for the first time.“
